Who we are and how we got here

A brief story

John Senger, Nate Rockwell, and Tyler Ashley have been working together since 2010, in kitchens, in dining rooms, and from behind the bar at different establishments.  They used hang around and talk about how, if they ever had their way, they would team up and open up a "burgers and fries" restaurant on Bridge Street.

In 2015, Grindhouse Gourmet Burgers came to town.  They were doing almost exactly what the trio had always talked about.  The quintessential American classic . . . hamburger (with a contemporary twist).

In September of 2016, Grindhouse Gourmet Burgers closed their doors, and Nate, John, and Tyler immediately started talking to the owner about purchasing the business.  They feared that Bridge Street losing such an important culinary staple would set back the progress and the growth of the Historic Harbor Disctrict.

They bought the business, changed up the menu to make things faster, more affordable, and more neuveau American eclectic, and began "grinding out" a whole new approach to gourmet burgers in Ashtabula.

Now open 5 days a week with daily specials, delectable salads, complex flavors, outrageous twists, and a few surprises, Grindhouse Gourmet Burgers stands on the precipice of changing everything you thought you
